In Sápmi it is an ancient custom to grill fish over a fire with a stick. The apparent simplicity of this dish belies a great taste.

Reindeer broth is not only a way to add flavour. It is a fundament of Sámi cuisine. In the harsh cold of Sápmi winters many frozen souls have been warmed by a warm broth. Reindeer broth is also nutritious and packed with energy.

This tasty and vitamin-packed blueberry salsa is a fresh barbecue side-dish that goes well with both fish and meat.

Gurpi are cold-smoked raindeer mince bundles packed in fat from the reindeer stomach. Gurpi can be grilled on a skewer over an open fire or fried in butter or reindeer fat. It can also be dried slowly in cool spring air. 

A tasty and easily cooked pasta dish for everyday meals and parties alike. To add an extra bit of flavour stir in some green peas or your favourite wild plant.

Among the Sámi reindeer blood is considered a delicacy, both because of its great taste and because of its high iron content.
